Mission

The Goyal Foundation aims to promote Gandhian thoughts by retracing the footsteps of the great man M K Gandhi in the west and discovering his historical importance and contemporary relevance to the United Kingdom and the wider world today.

Millions of Indians study, live and work or travel to the UK as they have for over two hundred years. Gandhis London will establish a historical connection and spiritual link between the lives of these many Indians, their great leaders of freedom and the heritage of London and Great britain.

London has been endowed with many great attractions and seats of learning that have attracted some of the world’s finest minds and leaders to this city over the centuries. Behind the glitter and glamour, wealth and decadence of this city lies a unique heritage, history, tales of migration, innovation, survival, agitation and spirituality. Gandhis London finds connection with one of those tales. The tale of lives and times of some great Indians, especially Mahatma Gandhi, their time spent in London and what they took with them and left behind.

Of what they left behind and gave to this world is relevant today as much as it was in days of colonial rule and the righteous struggle against it. Especially Gandhis ideals of non-violence, tolerance, compassion, humility and peaceful resistance to opression in the times of war, discord, violence and intolerance that the society and the world face today.

The Goyal Foundation plans a number of tours, lectures and library projects to introduce this very important part of London’s history to its present.

A permanant museaum of Mahatma Gandhi and other Indian independence leaders is planned in central London.

This is a non-profit and non-government effort sposored by The Goyal Foundation and supported by numerous non-profits, corporations and individuals.
