Times of India Covers Gandhi’s London

We are feeling humbled today by an article in The Times of India (June 27, 2007) written by London bureau chief Rashmee Roshan Lall. It is a heart warming news story which in itself lifts the mood of a reader so oppressed by all the dreadful and frivolous news of our times. We would like to thank Times of India and Rashmee Lall.

Rashmee Lall, a Londoner herself, takes up the story with gusto. Almost all Indians in London that have heard of this walk have come out generously and whole heartedly with support. And not just the Indians. London Walks company that regales hundreds of thousands of people each year with stories from London’s past, walking them through alleways, pubs and marvels of London did not hestitate in taking up the challenge. Sue Jackson, the guide to June walk spent weeks studying Gandhi, his life, his memoirs and developed a vivid narration of his time in London. Bolobolo web site provided information support. The list is long.

Lall reports about the support for the walk from the London Mayor’s Office which has included the walk in India NOW celebrations of London this summer of 2007.

We take this opportunity to announce that any school group of more than 15 gets to go on the walk for free. The fee of £6 is only for tourists.
